Wild Horses: Music Worthy of the Wild West

Back in January 2012, Nathan and I left Nashville, TN and drove out to Arizona so that I could start grad school. With 35+ hours in the car, a good playlist was a necessity. As we drove further and further west, I found myself listening to more and more classic rock and country music. Seems like an odd pairing, but is it really?

A lot of classic rock artists have songs that could be considered folk and/or Americana. Take the Rolling Stones’ “Wild Horses”…elements of the song are so folksy. I mean take a listen for yourself…

Cowboys are abundant in the West…I saw just as many cowboy hats during my time in Arizona as I did back in Nashville. That being said, country music is played all over the state, which made me feel right at home haha. It was a pleasant, unexpected surprise. That being said, I tended to listen to more classic country music, like Hank Williams and Patsy Cline.

So good lookin, feel free to take a listen…
