Jigs, Reels, Hornpipes…It’s All Irish to Me

Best place to listen to music in Ireland? Pubs! Pull up a chair, grab a pint and dance along as a violinist plays “Morrison’s Jig.” (Note: Make sure to ask the locals which pubs they frequent, and which local bands they prefer)

As mentioned in my previous post, Doolin is well-known as the “center of traditional Irish music.” In the following YouTube video, Kevin Griffin, a local banjo player, describes the Doolin music scene:

Before traveling to Ireland, check out some famous Irish bands, such as Irish-American band, The Elders (see video below).
