Beignets, Muffalettas, and Po’boys : New Orleans Food

One of the best things about New Orleans is the food! Having trouble deciding which restaurants to visit? Have no fear! Here’s a quick outline of everything you need to know about where to eat in New Orleans.
(Again, a huge thank you to my parents for lending their expertise for this post!)
Sandwiches, Muffalettas, and Po-boys:
- Maspero’s : Great roast beef and pastrami sandwiches and muffalettas (located in the French Quarter)
- Napoleon House : Po-boys are great…also, this was in the film, Runaway Jury (located in the French Quarter)
- Central Grocery : Excellent muffalettas, but plan to get these to-go (located in the French Quarter)
- Mother’s Restaurant : Amazing sandwiches…you have to eat the Ferdi Special (located in Poydras)
- Casamento’s : Great oyster po’boys (located on Magazine St..Note: closed May-Sept)
- Bud’s Broiler : favorite place for burgers (multiple locations)
Dessert & Snacks:
- Angelo Brocato’s : italian ice cream and spumoni (located on Carrollton Ave)
- Café du Monde : beignets!! Also, for coffee-drinkers, try the chicory! (located in the French Quarter)
- Gambino’s : pastries, especially King Cake (they also will ship king cakes)
Coffee:
- Café du Monde : As I mentioned above, try the chicory! (located in the French Quarter)
- PJ’s Coffee : coffee shops based out of New Orleans (try the Uptown location)
- La Madeleine : coffee and pastries
Fine Dining (all require reservations):

- Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse : located in the French Quarter
- Arnaud’s : located in the French Quater
- Antoine’s : located in the French Quarter
- Brigtsen’s Restaurant : located in the Carrollton area
