Space City: Houston, TX

Houston is one of the many places that I call home. For over sixteen years, my family has lived in Texas. Soon I’ll be heading home for the holidays, and I’ve been thinking about all of the things that make Houston unique. Thought I’d share a few…

  • Space Center Houston

Houston is called Space City, so naturally one of the most popular attractions is Space Center Houston. Learn all about NASA’s Johnson Space Center, visit the rocket park, watch IMAX movies, and explore Houston’s long history with outer space.

  • Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo

The largest and most well-known rodeo occurs in Houston. The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo is more than a mere rodeo. There are carnival rides, tons of great food, livestock competitions, and live entertainment.

  • Museum of Natural Science

The Museum of Natural Science is filled with unique exhibits. Growing up, I visited this museum to see the planetarium, watch thrilling IMAX movies, rotating exhibitions, and explore the Butterfly Center.

  • Jones Hall

Some of the best concerts that I’ve ever attended were at Jones Hall. I’m a classically trained violinist, and Houston is home to one of the best symphonies. The greatest classical musicians come from all over the world to play with the Houston Symphony. Itzhak Perlman, Joshua Bell, and Yo Yo Ma are just a few of the many musicians who have graced the halls of Jones Hall.
